These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Reardon Web Development DBA The Irons Academy. We may update these Terms from time to time, and your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
The Irons Academy is an online study platform designed for firefighters preparing for Massachusetts state promotional examinations. The Platform provides flashcards, multiple-choice practice tests, AI-powered study recommendations, spaced repetition review, and progress tracking tools.
The Platform is a supplementary study aid. It does not replace official training programs, coursework, or direct study of required reading materials. We do not administer, score, or have any affiliation with any state civil service examination or certifying body.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Platform. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

All content on the Platform — including questions, flashcards, study materials, AI-generated recommendations, software, user interface design, logos, and trademarks — is owned by or licensed to Reardon Web Development DBA The Irons Academy and is protected by United States copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Study content is created in original question-and-answer format for educational purposes. Questions are derived from concepts found in publicly available fire service textbooks and standards referenced in official state examination reading lists.
Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Platform for your personal, non-commercial study purposes only.
If you believe that content on the Platform infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to info@ironsacademy.com that includes: a description of the copyrighted work, the specific location of the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
The Irons Academy is a study aid and does not guarantee exam results. Success on promotional examinations depends on many factors beyond the use of this Platform, including direct study of required reading materials, professional experience, and individual preparation.
While we strive for accuracy, study content may contain errors or become outdated as textbook editions change or examination reading lists are updated. The Platform should not be relied upon as the sole source of information for exam preparation.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any state civil service commission, fire department, certifying body, or textbook publisher.
The Platform uses artificial intelligence (via OpenAI) to generate personalized study recommendations. AI-generated recommendations are provided for informational purposes only and should not be treated as professional advice. AI outputs may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete.
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, REARDON WEB DEVELOPMENT DBA THE IRONS ACADEMY, ITS OWNER, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PLATFORM.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Reardon Web Development DBA The Irons Academy, its owner, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
Informal Resolution First
Before filing any legal claim, you agree to first contact us at info@ironsacademy.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least sixty (60) days. Most concerns can be resolved quickly through direct communication.
Class Action Waiver
YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION AGAINST REARDON WEB DEVELOPMENT DBA THE IRONS ACADEMY.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination for cause, you forfeit any remaining subscription time and are not entitled to a refund.
You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, internet or infrastructure failures, cyberattacks, or third-party service outages.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the “Last updated” date above. For significant changes, we may also notify you via email or an in-app notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Reardon Web Development DBA The Irons Academy regarding your use of the Platform, and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral.
